The Islands
St Marys the largest of the islands also has the capital Hugh Town, and most of the population and attractions.
St. Marys has an Anglican, Methodist and a Roman Catholic Church, three public houses, hotel bars, a social club, disco, cafés and restaurants. A camp site is situated on the Garrison, and a number of bed and breakfast are based around the town.
Tresco, best known for the Abbey Gardens, Tresco has no camping cars or caravans, and accommodation is limited.The Gardens were laid out buy the remarkable Augustus Smith commencing in 1834 on the site of the old Benedictine Abbey.
Bryher is wild and untamed, Hell bay on the North West side is famous for its Atlantic storms and the island is a resting place for many migratory birds. There is good accommodation available in the hotel and Guest houses as well as several self catering cottages
St Martins is a more sheltered island and has some beautiful beaches as well as a camp site and good cliff walks
St Agnes a peaceful island excellent for getting away from it all. A camp site is here as well as Bed and Breakfast.
